Jack is a native Californian. He attended California State Polytechnic
College in Pomona, where he received his B.A. in Landscape Architecture. He
began his practice in Orange County, California; in 1969 he and his family
moved to the Napa Valley where he went into private practice. In 1976 he
formed Jack Chandler & Associates in Yountville, California. Over the years
his distinctive work has made him one of the most respected landscape
architects in California, earning him many awards and citations. In addition
to landscape architecture, Jack is known as an accomplished sculptor and
designer of furniture, an outstanding cook (in fact, Jack recently made a
guest chef appearance on Michael Chiarello's television program, Michael
Chiarello's Napa, where he prepared a pasta with asparagus cream sauce!) and
is an intrepid world traveler.
